Quiz Maker for Corporate Training & L&D

Turn your SOPs, training decks, and policy PDFs into auto-graded knowledge checks. Compliance audit trail, per-respondent item analysis, CSV export to your HRIS or LMS.

Free tier covers most teams. No credit card.

Where SimpleQuizMaker fits in an L&D stack

Most L&D teams already have an LMS — TalentLMS, Docebo, Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SAP SuccessFactors. The LMS is great at delivering courses, tracking completion, and exposing reports to HRBPs. Where they all fall short: actually authoring the assessment items inside each course. Question authoring in any LMS is a manual, one-at-a-time slog.

SimpleQuizMaker is the authoring layer. Feed it a PDF (policy, SOP, compliance handbook, product spec, sales playbook) and it produces a usable 20-30 question bank in under 2 minutes. You review, edit, and either share the SimpleQuizMaker link directly or export to your LMS as QTI / CSV.

Use cases

Annual compliance training

HIPAA, SOC 2 awareness, anti-bribery, code of conduct, data privacy, harassment prevention. Upload the existing policy document; generate questions; deploy to all employees. CSV export gives you the audit trail your compliance team needs: name, completion timestamp, score, pass/fail.

New hire onboarding (week-1 checks)

Build a quiz from your employee handbook. Drop the link into the welcome-week task list. New hires complete it on day 3 or 4. You catch confusion early (people asking the same question to HR three weeks in) by seeing where misses cluster.

Product knowledge for sales

Upload your product fact sheet, battle cards, or release notes. Generate a 20-question quiz. Run it quarterly to verify the whole sales team has absorbed the new positioning. Reps who fail get one-on-one enablement; reps who pass get a green check in the dashboard.

Customer support training

Upload your help center articles or internal SOPs. Generate scenario quizzes (“A customer reports X. What's the correct first response?”). New CX hires complete before going live; tenured agents review quarterly when the product changes.

Security awareness

Upload your security policy or the latest phishing-awareness deck. Generate scenario items (“Which of these is a phishing email?”). Run quarterly. Track which teams have lowest scores and route them to additional training.

Manager / leadership development

Upload your manager handbook or training notes. Generate scenario items on performance reviews, difficult conversations, comp philosophy. Run for new managers in their first 90 days.

Compliance-grade audit trail

For trainings that have a compliance dimension (annual, regulatory, certification), what auditors actually want to see:

  • · Name & email of every employee who took it
  • · Timestamp of completion
  • · Score and pass/fail against documented passing threshold
  • · Time-on-quiz (so you can spot 30-second rubber-stamp completions)
  • · Source material reference — which policy version the quiz was generated from

SimpleQuizMaker's CSV export covers all of these. Drop it into your evidence binder or wire it into your GRC tool.

Bulk deployment patterns

For 50-5,000 employees, the typical pattern:

  1. 1. Build the quiz once. Review and edit until tight.
  2. 2. Publish; copy the shareable link.
  3. 3. Email it to a distribution list (or post in Slack / Teams / Intranet) with a deadline.
  4. 4. Track completion via the SimpleQuizMaker dashboard or scheduled CSV exports.
  5. 5. One reminder email at the halfway point. Final reminder 48 hours before deadline.
  6. 6. Pass to HRIS for the formal completion record.

Item analysis = better training content

The most valuable output of compliance training isn't the pass rate. It's the item analysis: which questions did the most employees miss? Those are the topics your training isn't covering well. Use the item analysis to update your training material — not the quiz.

Example: 80% of employees miss a question about reporting a near-miss security incident. The fix isn't to drop the question — it's to add a clearer section to the security policy. Then regenerate the quiz from the updated source.

Security & data handling

Quiz authors sign in with Google OAuth or magic link. Quiz takers don't need an account — they enter their work email or name. Submissions live against the author account on Hetzner EU infrastructure. We don't sell or share data. SCIM and SSO (SAML / OIDC) are on the roadmap for the Enterprise tier; today, most teams use the link-share + CSV export pattern. DPA available on request via the contact page.

FAQ

Can I gate the quiz to my employees only?Yes (Teacher / Pro plan). Restrict by email domain (@yourcompany.com) so external visitors with the link can't complete.

Does it work with our LMS? Yes via QTI export (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) or CSV (everything else). Direct LMS integrations on roadmap.

Pricing for larger orgs?Free for small teams. Teacher plan ($19.99/mo) covers most L&D departments. Enterprise (custom) adds SSO, SCIM, custom data residency.

What about translations? Source material can be in any language; the model generates questions in the same language. Multi-language quiz delivery (one link, language-detect served) on roadmap.

Are AI-generated questions audit-defensible? Yes — you reviewed and approved every question before publishing; AI generation is just the drafting step. The audit trail attaches to your review and approval, not the model.
