Quiz Maker for Microsoft Teams
Generate quizzes from your training PDFs, SharePoint docs, or meeting notes. Drop the link in a Teams channel or meeting chat. Auto-grading, item analysis, no app install.
No Microsoft 365 license needed. Just a link.
Why not just use Microsoft Forms?
Microsoft Forms is solid for surveys and the Teams integration is genuinely useful. Where it loses to a dedicated quiz tool: Forms requires you to write every question by hand, manually create distractors for MCQs, and set up branching logic for multi-section assessments. For a 25-question compliance quiz built from a 30-page policy PDF, that's 2-3 hours of work.
SimpleQuizMaker generates the same quiz in 90 seconds. Upload the PDF, pick question count and difficulty, get a draft. Tweak any question, publish, paste the link into the relevant Teams channel. Use Forms for surveys; use SimpleQuizMaker for knowledge tests.
Workflows that map to Teams
Channel-based training
Drop quizzes in your “L&D / Training” channel as posts. Team members take the quiz at their own pace; results show up in your dashboard. Each post becomes a thread for discussion of the answers.
Meeting knowledge check
During a Teams meeting (training session, all-hands, kick-off), paste the quiz link into the meeting chat. Participants take it during a break or at the end. You see live submissions and can screenshare results.
Compliance & certification
Annual security awareness, HIPAA, SOC 2 evidence requirements all benefit from a clean audit trail. SimpleQuizMaker exports per-respondent CSV with timestamps — drop that into your compliance binder.
New hire onboarding
Build a quiz from your employee handbook PDF. Add the link to the “Welcome” channel new hires join. Track completion as part of week-1 onboarding milestones.
Sales enablement
Build product-knowledge quizzes from your sales-enablement deck. Reps take them quarterly. Dashboard surfaces who needs refresher training.
5-step Teams workflow
- 1. Export your source material to PDF (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint page — all export cleanly).
- 2. Upload to SimpleQuizMaker. Pick question count (15-30 typical for training).
- 3. Review the draft. Edit any question, add tags, set passing score.
- 4. Publish. Copy the shareable link.
- 5. Post in the appropriate Teams channel with a short intro: “Please complete by Friday. Should take 10 minutes.”
What you get on the host side
- · Live submissions dashboard — see who's done, average score, time-to-complete.
- · Item analysis — which questions had the most wrong answers; where to update the training.
- · Per-respondent answers — drill into any submission to see their answer sheet.
- · CSV export — feed to Excel, SharePoint list, Power BI, or your LMS.
- · Pass / fail flag — set a passing score; respondents see immediate feedback.
Privacy & enterprise considerations
Quiz takers don't need a SimpleQuizMaker account; they enter their name (or work email if you require it) and submit. Author accounts use Google or magic-link sign-in. We don't share data with third parties; quiz content and submissions live on EU infrastructure (Hetzner). For procurement teams: we're happy to provide DPA documentation on request via the contact page.
FAQ
Is there a Teams app I install? No. SimpleQuizMaker is web-based; you paste a link into Teams chat or a channel post. No admin install, no consent screens.
Will quiz takers need a Microsoft account? No. They click the link, enter a name, take the quiz.
Can I gate the quiz by email domain? Yes (Teacher / Pro plan). Restrict access to @yourcompany.com to keep external takers out.
Can I make the quiz proctored? Honest answer: no real proctoring (no webcam, no lockdown browser). We support timed quizzes, randomized question order, randomized answer order, and one-attempt limits — enough for most internal training. For high-stakes certification, use a dedicated proctoring tool.
Does it integrate with Viva Learning? Not natively yet. CSV export is the bridge for now.
