Responses Inbox

The Inbox is where the results of a shared quiz actually show up. If you've sent a quiz link to a class or a group and want to see how they did, this is the page.

What you see

The Inbox groups results by quiz, then by the person who took it. Opening a response shows a full per-question answer sheet: which option they picked versus the correct one, marked right or wrong, their typed answer next to the answer key for short-answer questions, any explanation text, plus their score and how long they took.

Guest responses are included

A response from someone who took the quiz without a SimpleQuizMaker account still shows up here — sharing a quiz link doesn't require the other person to sign up, but you still see their result the same way you'd see a signed-in taker's.

In progress vs. completed

If someone has started a quiz but not finished it, you'll see it as in progress — you can tell at a glance who's started and who hasn't, even before anyone submits. Once they finish, it flips to a completed result with a score.

What you see if a quiz reveals answers only at the end

If a quiz is set to reveal correct answers only after the full quiz is submitted, someone with an open, unfinished attempt on that quiz won't have the answer key exposed to them through the Inbox either — the same reveal rule that applies to the person taking it applies here.

Getting an email for each response

If you would rather not keep checking, turn on Email me when someone responds under Edit quiz → Settings. Each submission sends one email to your account address with the participant's name and score and a link back to the answer sheet. Your own test runs of the quiz do not trigger it, and a quiz that suddenly gets a very large number of responses is capped at a handful of emails per hour so your mailbox is not flooded.

Quizzes you've taken yourself

The Inbox also shows your own results for quizzes you've taken (including ones someone else shared with you) — not just quizzes you created and shared out.
