Sharing a Quiz
Share a quiz by link, QR code, Google Classroom, or any of eight social channels — no app or login required for the people taking it.
Every quiz you create gets a share sheet with several ways to hand it to the people who need to take it — students, classmates, or anyone else.
Opening the share sheet
From any quiz you own, the Share button opens one panel with every option:
- Copy link — the fastest option for pasting into an email, LMS, or chat
- QR code — generated on the spot, with a download as PNG option for printing onto a handout or projecting on a screen
- Google Classroom — opens Classroom's own "create assignment" flow with the quiz link pre-filled
- Social and messaging channels — WhatsApp, Telegram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, and email, each opening that platform's own share dialog
- Your device's native share sheet — on mobile, this surfaces AirDrop, Messages, and whatever else your phone offers
On a phone, the share sheet opens as a bottom sheet instead of a centered modal, so every option stays reachable with a thumb.
Who can take a shared quiz
A quiz link works for anyone, signed in or not — the person taking it does not need a SimpleQuizMaker account. This is by design: the friction should be on creating a quiz, not on answering one.
Visibility
A quiz starts private to you. Sharing it (via any channel above) makes it accessible to anyone with the link, but it is not listed publicly or indexed — only someone who has the exact link or QR code can open it. You can revisit the share panel at any time to confirm or copy the link again; there is no separate "make public" step beyond generating a share link.
Closing a quiz
Sharing and accepting responses are separate switches. When you want the link to keep working but stop new attempts — after a deadline, or once the class has finished — open Edit quiz → Settings and turn off Accepting responses, or set a date under Stop accepting responses on and let it close by itself. Participants who open a closed quiz see a notice instead of the Start button; anyone mid-quiz when it closes is told their result was not recorded. Turn the switch back on at any time to reopen it.
Seeing who took it
Every response to a quiz you own — including from people who took it without an account — shows up in your Inbox, grouped by quiz, with a per-question answer sheet for each response. See the Responses Inbox guide.
