AI Tutor

The AI Tutor has two jobs: explaining exactly why you missed a specific quiz question, and answering open-ended study questions in a standalone chat.

Getting an explanation for a missed question

Whenever you miss a question on a quiz, look for the option to get an explanation from the AI Tutor right there — you get more than the correct answer, you get a explanation of *why* that answer is right and, often, why the option you picked was a reasonable-looking trap. This is on by default; it can be turned off in settings if you'd rather just see the answer key.

The standalone AI Tutor chat

Beyond per-question explanations, the AI Tutor has its own chat where you can ask about any subject directly — not tied to a specific quiz.

### Web research

The tutor can research a topic before answering instead of relying only on what it already knows. When research is used, you'll see a live "Researching…" trail as it searches and reads pages, and the final answer cites its sources inline as numbered references you can click through to the original page. There's a Web research on/off toggle in the chat header if you'd rather get a direct answer without the research step — useful for quick questions where you don't need citations.

### Starting a conversation

An empty chat shows a handful of starter prompts to get going, or you can just type your own question about whatever you're studying.

Monthly message quota

AI Tutor messages are metered per month like quiz generations: the free plan includes a smaller monthly allowance, and the paid Student plan includes significantly more. Your remaining messages for the month are shown in the chat.
